Annett Gröschner Named New Mainz Stadtschreiberin

The Berlin-based author will receive the prestigious literary award in April 2025, marking the 40th anniversary of the prize.

Annett Gröschner, originally from Magdeburg, will be the Stadtschreiberin of Mainz in 2025.
The award includes a €12,500 prize, a year-long residency in Mainz, and a film production opportunity with ZDF and 3sat.
Gröschner's work is praised for its vivid portrayal of German history through essays, novels, and stories.
Her notable works include the poetry collection 'Herzdame Knochensammler' and the novel 'Moskauer Eis'.
The current Stadtschreiberin is Julia Schoch, with the upcoming award ceremony set for April.
