Anne Hathaway Cast as Lead in Film Adaptation of Colleen Hoover's Thriller 'Verity'

Anne Hathaway will portray Verity Crawford, the titular character in the adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling psychological thriller 'Verity.'
The film will be directed by Michael Showalter, who previously worked with Hathaway on 'The Idea of You,' and is set for a theatrical release under Amazon MGM Studios.
The screenplay, written by Nick Antosca, is based on Hoover's 2018 novel, which follows a struggling writer uncovering dark secrets while completing a famous author's unfinished work.
The novel has been a major success, selling over one million copies in 2023 alone and drawing comparisons to 'Gone Girl' and 'Rebecca.'
Hathaway, alongside Hoover and Showalter, will also serve as a producer, while additional casting for key roles has yet to be announced.
