Anne Burrell, Food Network’s 'Worst Cooks in America' Mentor, Dies at 55

Authorities have not disclosed a cause of death pending an autopsy by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner.

  • Found unconscious and unresponsive at her Brooklyn home on the morning of June 17, Burrell was pronounced dead at the scene following an NYPD response.
  • Just weeks before her death, Burrell collaborated with CareRight to launch culinary programs at Florida rehabilitation centers and remained active on social media.
  • A Culinary Institute of America graduate and former educator, she rose to fame as a sous-chef on Iron Chef America before hosting Secrets of a Restaurant Chef.
