Annapolis and Frederick Voters Head to the Polls to Choose Mayors Today

Results will be released in stages, culminating in Annapolis’ final certification on Nov. 12.

Overview

  • Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and under newly redrawn ward maps Annapolis voters must use their ward polling place for in-person voting, with mail-in ballots accepted at any ward site.
  • Initial Annapolis totals posted after polls close will include only in-person votes, with mail-in and drop-box counting beginning Thursday before the official tally is finalized Nov. 12.
  • Annapolis’ open-seat mayoral race features Democrat Jared Littmann against Republican Robert “Bob” O’Shea after two-term Mayor Gavin Buckley reached term limits.
  • There is no Election Day registration in Annapolis, so only voters who registered by the Oct. 6 deadline can participate.
  • In Frederick, Democratic Mayor Michael O’Connor faces Republican Tom Trott as residents also elect city council members, with voting at Trinity Recreation Center from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
