Overview
- Police say a homeowner confronted a person trying to break into a vehicle around 4:05 a.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of Weldon Boulevard.
- During the encounter, the suspect shot and killed the family’s dog, then fled on foot while firing additional rounds.
- Gunfire struck a nearby residence, and a homeowner reported a bullet passed about six feet from where his wife was sleeping; no human injuries were reported.
- The suspect is described as an adult male dressed entirely in black with a black face covering, according to Ann Arbor Police.
