ANMAT Orders Nationwide Ban on Seven Coffee Products for Fake Registrations

Regulators deemed the items apocryphal after an INAL probe tied them to an unlicensed San Justo packer using non‑existent RNE/RNPA numbers.

Overview

  • Through Disposición 8385/2025 signed by Nélida Agustina Bisio, ANMAT prohibited the manufacture, fractioning and sale of the coffees across Argentina, including online.
  • The measure covers all presentations, lots and expiration dates for Caffé del Doge (Doge Rosso Blend), Café Sol (Clásico, Colombia, Gourmet, Línea Baristas), Caffé del Ponte Rialto (Intenso Blend) and a product labeled Expresso Café Crema.
  • The case began with a complaint that a Caffé del Doge product used another company’s RNE alongside an RNPA that did not match any authorized item.
  • Inspections traced the supply chain to a facility identified as Café Sol in San Justo with no valid RNE/RNPA, where coffee for multiple brands was processed and labels lacked required data such as lot and expiry.
  • ANMAT intervened the merchandise, opened administrative proceedings against Junio 1995 SRL/Caffé del Doge and the Café Sol operator, and specifically banned any product displaying RNPA EXP. N° 4050-141467.
