ANMAT Bans Unregistered Cosmetics, Pulls All Lots of DANFERANE I.V., Orders Santa Fe Withdrawals

Regulators moved to protect users after detecting unregistered sales alongside critical manufacturing failures.

Overview

  • Through Disposición 16/2026, ANMAT prohibited neutral gels and base creams sold under QUIFAM, VEPO, ECOTIDY, ACTIVA LAB and NAMECO for lacking sanitary registration and producer identification, with sales detected on Mercado Libre.
  • Disposición 18/2026 halted all lots of the injectable antibiotic DANFERANE I.V. (Trimethoprim 80 mg + Sulfamethoxazole 400 mg, Certificate No. 43.621) from P.L. Rivero y Cía. S.A. after records showed no authorization for an alternate manufacturer.
  • An inspection tied to the DANFERANE case found deficiencies classified as “critical,” leading ANMAT to order preventive inhibition of the company’s production and to open a sanitary summary.
  • A separate disposition targeted Rosario-based LADECE S.A., prohibiting and ordering the withdrawal of multiple pharmacopoeia products following a Santa Fe Health Ministry inspection that uncovered production and authorization irregularities.
  • ANMAT instructed immobilization and market withdrawals and notified provincial health authorities to enforce the prohibitions and prevent further circulation nationwide.
