Overview

  • Through Disposiciones 5093 to 5096/2025, ANMAT prohibited the manufacture and sale of Los Ayllos, Olivares del Rey and Valle de Tunuyán olive oils nationwide.
  • Under Disposición 5094/2025, ANMAT banned the Dulzura sugar sold as “Azúcar común tipo A” after uncovering nonexistent RNE and RNPA numbers on its label.
  • Earlier this week, the agency had also banned Monte Oliva extra-virgin olive oil for lacking mandatory registrations and suspended Ecoliva after lab analysis showed it was primarily soybean oil.
  • ANMAT published images of the affected labels and urged consumers to report sightings while coordinating with provincial authorities on enforcement and adverse event monitoring.
  • These measures expand ANMAT’s enforcement campaign beyond cosmetics and pharmaceuticals to include essential food items and reinforce its emphasis on traceability and consumer protection.
