ANMAT Bans Mami Keto Foods and ‘Copito de Nieve’ Sweets Nationwide Over Fake Labels, Missing Registrations

The regulator said the items are unregistered, falsely labeled, untraceable.

Overview

  • Dispositions 7558/2025 and 7566/2025, published October 15, prohibit the manufacture, sale and distribution of Mami Keto products and the Copito de Nieve dry ice-cream treat across Argentina, including online platforms.
  • The Mami Keto case began with a consumer query to the National Food Institute (INAL) about a ‘keto and vegan’ bread bought online, which led inspectors to find multiple unregistered items and trigger a city seizure.
  • In Córdoba, a provincial inspection found Copito de Nieve using non-existent RNE/RNPA numbers; lab checks confirmed false labeling, and ANMAT extended the provincial ban to the national level.
  • ANMAT deemed the foods apocryphal for lacking valid establishment and product registrations, ordered immediate market withdrawal of all lots and presentations, and warned that safety and traceability cannot be guaranteed.
  • As part of broader enforcement, ANMAT previously suspended sales of certain water filters (Disposition 4668/2025) and halted a popular olive oil over soybean adulteration, and it also ordered the recall of a Diclofenac Drawer lot detected with particulate matter; consumers are urged to stop use and report holdings via ANMAT Responde or [email protected].
