Overview

  • Anker Innovations recalled over 1.15 million PowerCore 10000 (Model A1263) portable chargers sold from June 2016 to December 2022 after discovering overheating lithium-ion batteries.
  • The recall follows 19 reports of the devices melting, smoking or catching fire, which led to two minor burn injuries and more than $60,700 in property damage.
  • Proof of purchase is not required and owners can opt for a $30 gift card if replacement chargers are backordered.
  • Anker advises confirmed recalled units to be sent to certified hazardous-waste or battery-recycling facilities rather than disposed of in regular trash.
  • Other models including the 334 MagGo 10K, 321 Power Bank (5K) and 535 Power Bank (20K) are also under recall while best-sellers like the 523 PowerCore Slim 10K PD and PowerCore III 10K remain unaffected.
