Anker Launches Second Global Recall for Five Power Bank Models Over Fire Risk

A defect in lithium-ion cells from a single supplier prompted the company to alert regulators worldwide

Overview

  • Anker identified the affected models as Power Bank A1257 and A1647, MagGo Power Bank A1652, and Zolo Power Bank A1681 and A1689
  • Owners are instructed to stop using recalled units immediately due to risks of overheating, melting, smoke or fire
  • U.S. consumers can submit device serial numbers or proof of purchase online to receive a free replacement power bank or a gift card
  • Recalled devices must be disposed of at facilities equipped for lithium-ion batteries and not placed in general trash or recycling
  • This recall follows a mid-June action on over 1.1 million PowerCore 10000 A1263 units after 19 incidents and two minor burn injuries reported to the CPSC
