The Animation Guild ratified its new three-year contract with 76.1% of voting members in favor, following months of negotiations with the AMPTP.
Key provisions include wage increases of 7% in the first year, 4% in the second, and 3.5% in the third, along with expanded health and pension benefits at no added cost to members.
The deal introduces AI protections, requiring written notifications and consultations to explore non-GenAI tools, though some members expressed concerns over the sufficiency of these measures.
Additional benefits include new bereavement leave, more sick days, recognition of Juneteenth as a holiday, and gender-neutral restroom provisions at studio-owned facilities.
The agreement, described by union leadership as the strongest in a decade, will remain in effect through July 31, 2027, with ongoing efforts planned to address unresolved concerns about generative AI.
