Angus Mitchell, Son of Hairstylist Paul Mitchell, Dies at 53

The co-owner of John Paul Mitchell Systems was found dead in his Honolulu home pool, leaving behind a legacy in the hairstyling industry.

Angus Mitchell, son of famed hairstylist Paul Mitchell, has died at the age of 53 in an apparent drowning at his home in Honolulu.
He was co-owner of John Paul Mitchell Systems, a company his father founded in 1980, and inherited his father's stake in the company and its schools after his father's death in 1989.
Angus worked as a hairstylist in Hawaii before opening his own salon, Angus Mitchell Salon, in Beverly Hills in 2010.
He was married three times and leaves behind an 8-year-old son, Dylan, from his second marriage.
Throughout his career, Angus received multiple awards, including being named #1 Platform Artist by Be magazine, having a day named after him in Beverly Hills, and receiving three awards on behalf of the Alternative Hair Show, which raises money for leukemia research.
