Angels Turn Rare Triple Play, Rally to Beat Dodgers 7-6 in 10 Innings

  • Ohtani later led off the ninth inning with a 404-foot solo homer to knot the score at 6-6.
  • Jo Adell’s ground ball bounced past the Dodgers’ infield in the bottom of the 10th, sending Taylor Ward home with the walk-off run.
  • MLB.com noted Ohtani became only the second reigning MVP to hit into a triple play and Sporting News cited SportsCenter reporting that no player had combined that with a homer since 2016.
  • The win marked the Angels’ second series victory over the Dodgers this season and their sixth consecutive triumph against Los Angeles dating back to 2024.
