Angels calling up top draft pick Nolan Schanuel to aid playoff push

Schanuel was selected 11th overall in the 2023 MLB Draft out of Florida Atlantic University.
He had impressive hitting stats in the minors, including a .370 batting average in Double-A.
This is one of the fastest call-ups for a drafted player in MLB history.
The Angels hope Schanuel can contribute offensively as they chase a wild card spot.
Schanuel will lose his rookie eligibility for 2024 with this promotion.
