Angels call up 2022 first-round pick Zach Neto to take over at shortstop

Zach Neto, the Angels' first-round pick in the 2022 draft, has been called up from Double-A to the majors at the age of 22.
Neto will immediately take over as the Angels' starting shortstop after David Fletcher was demoted to Triple-A due to a poor start.
Though Neto has played just 44 minor league games, he's batted .322 this season and is considered a top prospect.
Neto is ranked No. 59 on a list of top prospects and is projected to be an excellent defender at shortstop.
To make room for Neto, the Angels moved pitcher Chris Rodriguez to the 60-day injured list.
