Angela Stanford Named U.S. Captain for 2026 Solheim Cup

The veteran golfer and former vice captain will lead Team USA in their bid for a long-awaited overseas victory in the Netherlands.

Angela Stanford, a six-time Solheim Cup player and three-time vice captain, was officially named captain of the U.S. team for the 2026 Solheim Cup.
The 2026 event will be held from September 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands, marking the first Solheim Cup in the country.
Stanford, who retired from professional golf in 2024, was part of the last U.S. team to win the Solheim Cup on foreign soil in 2015.
The U.S. team reclaimed the Solheim Cup in 2024 under Stacy Lewis, breaking a seven-year drought, and will aim to build on that momentum.
Anna Nordqvist, a three-time major champion from Sweden, will captain the European team, setting the stage for a competitive showdown.
