Angela Bassett and Mel Brooks to Receive Honorary Oscars; Editor Carol Littleton and Sundance's Michelle Satter Also Honored

Angela Bassett, an acclaimed actor known for roles in "What's Love Got to Do with It" and "Black Panther," will receive an honorary Oscar along with legendary writer, director and producer Mel Brooks.
Carol Littleton, a film editor with nearly five decades of experience, will also receive an honorary Oscar.
Michelle Satter, the founding senior director of the Sundance Institute's Artist Programs, will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her support of independent filmmakers over 40 years.
The honors will be presented at the Academy's Governors Awards ceremony on November 18, 2023.
Brooks is one of only 18 entertainers to achieve EGOT status by winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
