Angarsk Raises Heat Output to 117°C at TETS-9 After Outage as Criminal Case Opens

Officials keep a local emergency in place as severe cold persists across the city.

Overview

  • Seven boiler units are now operating at TETS-9, lifting the network temperature to 117°C against a stated norm of roughly 119–125°C.
  • An equipment failure on December 8 and a separate shutdown on December 6 cut heat parameters, limiting supply to 1,546 homes and 121 social facilities serving about 167,000 residents.
  • About 250 specialists were deployed for repairs, and the restored boiler No. 2 was brought back online on Wednesday evening.
  • Regional investigators opened a criminal case under Article 238, Part 2 (points a, b), and prosecutors say officials of the resource supplier provided services that did not meet safety requirements.
  • Temporary shelters for up to 6,000 people are prepared, several schools moved to remote learning while kindergartens operate normally, TETS-10 remains stable, and forecasts call for lows of roughly −26 to −34°C.
