Anduril, EDGE Launch Drone JV to Build Omen, Land 50-Aircraft UAE Order

Combined $1.05 billion in funding underpins UAE manufacturing with a goal of full-rate production by late 2028.

Overview

  • The partners unveiled the EDGE-Anduril Production Alliance and disclosed a UAE order for 50 Omen aircraft to anchor initial output.
  • Omen is a mid-size Group 3 tailsitter, roughly 10 feet tall on its tail, intended to deliver larger-aircraft endurance and payload in a compact airframe.
  • The aircraft is dual use, so military mission fits will trigger US and UAE export controls, and hybrid-electric propulsion developed with Archer Aviation enables runway-independent flight.
  • EDGE is investing $200 million on top of Anduril’s $850 million prior spend, with a plan to reach full-rate production by the end of 2028.
  • Production for regional customers will occur in the UAE, while any US orders would be built at Anduril’s Arsenal factory in Ohio.
