Overview
- Andreas Luthe, 38, was unanimously elected as VfL Bochum’s chairman by the newly formed presidium on June 24.
- Luthe, who ended his playing career after the 2023/24 relegation play-off and made 172 appearances for the club, will also serve as board spokesperson.
- The presidium, chosen at an extraordinary general meeting on June 14, includes Hans-Peter Villis and Till Grönemeyer as Luthe’s deputies.
- Villis had stepped down last October due to health issues and was formally removed from the supervisory board earlier this year following internal conflicts.
- Luthe’s appointment kicks off Roadmap2029, the club’s strategic blueprint to restore stability and quality following its relegation to the 2. Bundesliga.
