Veteran journalist Andrea Mitchell will step down from her daily MSNBC show post-inauguration to focus on field reporting as NBC's Chief Washington and Foreign Affairs Correspondent.

Andrea Mitchell announced she will leave her daily MSNBC anchor position after the presidential inauguration in January 2025.
Mitchell will continue her work with NBC News as Chief Washington Correspondent and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent.
Her decision allows her to focus more on field reporting and connecting with audiences, particularly during significant global and domestic challenges.
Mitchell has been with NBC News since 1978, covering every presidential election since 1980 and reporting from numerous international hotspots.
MSNBC has not yet announced who will take over Mitchell's noontime slot, as the network evaluates its daytime programming lineup.
