Unveiled in Benevento, the shortlist features four veteran writers alongside a debut novelist ahead of the July 3 prize ceremony in Rome.

Overview

  • Andrea Bajani’s L’anniversario (Feltrinelli) led the final round with 280 votes from 626 participating readers.
  • Nadia Terranova’s Quello che so di te (Guanda) secured 226 votes while Elisabetta Rasy’s Perduto è questo mare (Rizzoli) followed with 205.
  • Paolo Nori’s Chiudo la porta e urlo (Mondadori) and debut novelist Michele Ruol’s Inventario di quel che resta dopo che la foresta brucia (TerraRossa) tied at 180 votes each.
  • The five finalists were unveiled June 4 at the Teatro Romano in Benevento by the Amici della Domenica voting panel.
  • The Strega Prize winner will be revealed July 3 at the Museo Nazionale Etrusco di Villa Giulia in Rome with a live broadcast on Rai3.
