Overview

• Andre Williams, 49, was taken into custody Monday at a Tracy apartment complex and charged with the murder of 47-year-old Ryan M. Christie.
• The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office filed a first-degree murder charge and set Williams’s arraignment for Wednesday morning at the East County Hall of Justice in Dublin.
• San Leandro police executed search warrants at two of Williams’s residences and said officers recovered additional evidence linked to the killing.
• Christie was shot once in the back on June 13 while walking his dog along Euclid Avenue and was found dead the next morning by officers conducting a welfare check; his dog was unharmed.
• Authorities have stressed there is no ongoing threat to the community and continue to urge residents with information to contact investigators.
