Overview
- Portasio announced on October 3 via Paul O’Grady’s Instagram that the final headstone has been placed at St. Rumwold’s Churchyard in Bonnington, Kent.
- The dark-grey stone bears O’Grady’s name alongside that of his former long-term partner, Brendan Murphy, who is buried with him.
- A figurine of O’Grady’s dog Buster sits at the grave, described as a replica similar to the one at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home headquarters.
- The headstone includes one of O’Grady’s favourite quotes by Michel de Montaigne: “The greatest thing in the world is to know how to be one’s own self.”
- Portasio thanked the Commissary Court of the Diocese of Canterbury, the Parish of Bonnington, the Church of St. Rumwold, and Commissary General Robin Hopkins, adding that he misses O’Grady dearly and is grateful the resting place is complete.
