Andra Day Joins 'Percy Jackson' Season 2 as Athena

The Grammy and Golden Globe winner will portray the Greek goddess of wisdom in the upcoming season of Disney+'s adaptation.

Andra Day, acclaimed for her role in 'The United States vs. Billie Holiday', will play Athena, Annabeth Chase's mother, in 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' Season 2.
The announcement was made during Disney's D23 Expo in Brazil and shared via a video message from Day.
Season 2 is based on 'The Sea of Monsters', the second book in Rick Riordan's popular series, and is scheduled for a 2025 release.
Returning cast members include Walker Scobell as Percy, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover.
New additions to the cast include Daniel Diemer as Tyson, a cyclops and Percy's half-brother, and guest appearances by Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho as the Gray Sisters.
