Overview
- Andhra Pradesh confirmed the District Selection Committee exam will be held every year, following a recent Mega DSC that filled 16,347 teacher posts.
- Officials were told to make foundational literacy and numeracy a guaranteed right, with ASER 2024 placing the state 14th and reporting only 37.5% of Grade 5 students could read Grade 2 Telugu.
- The government released the final ₹325 crore tranche under Talli Ki Vandanam and directed immediate disbursal of 2024–25 fee reimbursement funds.
- The state plans a 2 lakh sq. ft. central library in Amaravati to be completed within a year, a regional library at Visakhapatnam’s Jagadamba Centre, and an integrated digital platform for library management using about ₹213 crore in pending cess funds.
- Construction of 125 autism centres is targeted for completion within a year, new science centres are to be launched in Anantapur, Nellore, Eluru, Kadapa and Chittoor, and a donor website will invite NRIs and philanthropists to adopt schools and support land for new JNVs and KVs.
