The project follows a Norman Foster and Partners design that anchors a broader capital-building push.

Overview

  • Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana launched raft foundation works with ceremonial poojas at the Amaravati site.
  • The High Court complex is planned at 21 lakh square feet with 52 court halls on the second, fourth and sixth floors, and the Chief Justice’s court on the eighth floor.
  • The building will follow a B+G+7 configuration based on the internationally recognized design by Norman Foster and Partners.
  • Construction is slated to use about 45,000 tonnes of steel, underscoring the scale of the structure.
  • The government set an end-2027 completion target and framed the restart as reviving Amaravati after delays under the previous regime, with seven iconic capital buildings planned.
