Overview

  • On June 2, Andhra Pradesh’s Real Time Governance Society signed a five-year memorandum of understanding with ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre to integrate space technology into state governance.
  • The pact will channel satellite imagery and scientific inputs into the AWARE platform across more than 42 applications, including agriculture, disaster management and urban planning.
  • AWARE combines data from satellites, drones, IoT devices, sensors, mobile feeds and CCTV to deliver real-time alerts and advisories via SMS, WhatsApp and social media.
  • In March, the state expanded its WhatsApp governance service “Mana Mitra” to 200 citizen services after launching with 161 options in January.
  • Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held talks with a NASSCOM delegation on initiatives such as an AI, quantum and GovTech innovation sandbox, a 100 K tech apprentice programme, a Coastal Cloud and cyber corridor and the Andhra for Bharat rural-tech scaling initiative.
