Andhra Pradesh Sets 51 Lakh-Tonne Kharif Paddy Procurement With 24-Hour Payout Goal

Officials pledge 24-hour payouts to farmers to restore trust after earlier delays.

  • Paddy is registered on over 39 lakh acres with an expected yield of about 85 lakh tonnes, and the state vows to purchase all registered crop.
  • The procurement calendar targets 11 lakh MT in November, 25 lakh in December, 8 lakh in January, 3 lakh in February and 4 lakh in March.
  • The 24-hour payment target follows 87% of transfers within 48 hours after the NDA took office, which it says inherited ₹1,670 crore in pending dues; support includes 50,000 tarpaulins, cyclone relief and wheat flour at ₹18 per rice-card family from January 1, 2026.
