Overview
- The state education department and Samagra Shiksha signed a memorandum with Canva on June 18 at Vidya Bhavan in Mangalagiri to formalise the partnership for government schools.
- Officials publicly announced the scheme on June 20, saying Andhra Pradesh is the first Indian state to offer statewide Canva for Education access to students, teachers and education officials.
- SCERT will build Telugu and English template libraries aligned to the state curriculum and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy goals to make lesson materials locally relevant.
- Teachers will be trained through a phased Training of Trainers model and the platform will include role-based permissions and teacher-controlled AI options to protect students’ data and classroom use.
- Planned technical links with the LEAP app, Google Workspace and school Chromebooks are subject to feasibility and a four-phase rollout, so schedules, integration tests and data-governance details remain to be finalised.
