Andhra Pradesh Removes Five Land Categories From 22-A, Starts Passbook Distribution Jan. 2

Officials will accept legacy records as sufficient proof to clear genuine titles.

Overview

  • Private patta lands were fully delisted, with officials directed to delete such entries on their own when applications are received.
  • Any one of eight legacy records — including 10(1) registers, adangals, SFA, assignment registers, DR files, Record of Holdings, registration documents, 8-A or DKT pattas — will suffice for removal, and officials were warned not to demand extra proof.
  • Allotments to serving and retired defence personnel, freedom fighters and political victims qualify for removal, with District Sainik Welfare Officer recommendations accepted for defence cases.
  • Pattadar passbooks will be issued mandal-wise from January 2, with 21.8 lakh to be distributed through January 9 and house visits promised to correct irregular entries.
  • Partially disputed survey numbers will be subdivided so only the contested portion remains prohibited, while decisions on four additional categories await a Group of Ministers review and a final call on pre-hold lands is expected in about two months, with investigations into alleged past irregularities underway.
