  • Chief Secretary K Vijayanand issued a government order on July 28 formally cancelling the 1,200 MW Kurukutti and 1,000 MW Karrivalasa projects in Parvathipuram Manyam District
  • Adani Green Energy Ltd first sought withdrawal on September 12, 2024 and again on May 15, 2025, blaming Andhra PradeshOdisha border disputes for preventing essential surveys and investigations
  • The State Investment Promotion Board approved the cancellation at its July 17 meeting following feasibility studies by NREDCAP with TCE Ltd and detailed project reports by AGEL
  • Facilitation charges paid by AGEL will be refunded or adjusted after deducting survey and DPR costs, with any balance applied to the 1,000 MW Pedakota and 600 MW Raiwada pumped storage projects
  • Both Kurukutti and Karrivalasa had been approved on June 29, 2022 under the previous YSRCP government as part of Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy expansion
