  • Seven-year-olds CH Penchalaiah and V Venkateshwarlu approached Nellore’s Municipal Commissioner on July 3 and were formally enrolled by Education Minister Nara Lokesh at the July 7 inauguration.
  • Lokesh announced he would adopt the boys and meet their educational needs while officials confirmed they will receive support under existing state welfare schemes.
  • The restored Venkatagiri Rajah Municipal Corporation High School now includes digital classrooms, a robotics lab, a hydroponics lab, a computer lab and a new playground.
  • The Andhra Pradesh Education Department will monitor the boys’ progress and schedule parent-teacher meetings twice annually to boost family engagement.
  • The school’s reopening forms part of a broader push to modernize 9,600 state schools with one teacher per class and integrate spiritual education materials.
