Overview
- The annual ₹10,091 crore allocation includes ₹1,346 crore for upgrading school infrastructure.
- Mothers of children in Classes I–Intermediate must hold Aadhaar-linked accounts and meet income, landholding and consumption criteria to qualify.
- Direct Benefit Transfers begin June 12 and must be completed by July 5 under government-issued operational guidelines.
- The scheme replaces Jagananna Amma Vodi, extending support from 42.6 lakh to 67.27 lakh students and covering over 43 lakh mothers.
- Orphans and students in private unaided schools are eligible with funds routed to guardians where necessary.
