Andhra Pradesh Launches Cyclone Relief, Sets Record Paddy Procurement Target

  • Under G.O. Rt. No.115, district collectors are issuing 25 kg rice, 1 kg each of toor dal, onions, potatoes and sugar, plus 1 litre palm oil to families in relief camps, with 50 kg rice for fishermen and handloom households.
  • Relief stocks include 100,000 metric tonnes of rice and 3,424 metric tonnes of sugar distributed through 14,415 Fair Price Shops under the Civil Supplies Department.
  • Ninety rehabilitation centres have provided food and accommodation to 3,422 families, with district control rooms operating for public grievances and quick redressal.
  • The government is providing ₹1,000 per person up to ₹3,000 per family, and tarpaulins held at all Rythu Seva Kendras are being issued free to farmers.
  • The state set a 51 lakh metric tonne paddy procurement target with direct purchases, payments to farmer bank accounts within 48 hours, and coordination with millers to accept moisture-affected crop.
