Andhra Pradesh Finalizes Space Policy 4.0 Targeting ₹25,000 Crore Investment

Overview

  • The policy aims to generate 5,000 direct jobs and 30,000 indirect positions, laying groundwork for innovation, research and manufacturing through 2035.
  • Two dedicated Space Cities will span 500 acres: Lepakshi will host R&D and startup incubation while Tirupati focuses on satellite assembly, avionics production and launch logistics.
  • Subsidies ranging from 25% to 45% across five investment tiers will include additional support for women and entrepreneurs from BC, SC, ST, minority and differently-abled communities.
  • A technical committee will design a plug-and-play common infrastructure model and recommend a new road link between Tirupati and Sriharikota to enhance logistical connectivity.
  • Integration of electronics, aerospace, defence and drone technologies underpins the strategy in alignment with India’s Space Vision Policy-2047.
