Andhra Pradesh Enrolls 1,003 SHG Women as Rapido Drivers Under EV Livelihood Scheme

  • MEPMA facilitated bank loans and allotted electric scooters and autorickshaws across nine urban centers including Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

  • Rapido waived onboarding fees for the first three to four months and provides a Rs 1,000 monthly EMI offset during the first year to ease entry.
  • Between May and July, participants completed about 45,000 rides that generated roughly Rs 35 lakh in income, according to government data.
  • The government reports 688 driver registrations on Rapido so far, with named beneficiaries citing monthly earnings around Rs 10,000–12,000.
