Overview
- Launched on June 12, the scheme offers Rs 15,000 per year to mothers or guardians of students from Class 1 to intermediate.
- As of June 13, Rs 8,745 crore has been credited to accounts of mothers of 67.27 lakh students.
- Part of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘Super Six’ promises, it covers government, private aided and private unaided schools and junior colleges.
- Rs 2,000 of each Rs 15,000 payment is deducted at source to upgrade school infrastructure, hygiene and sanitation.
- The government set July 5 as the final remittance date and launched the Mana Mitra app for reporting failed transfers.
