Overview

  • Under Talliki Vandanam, Andhra Pradesh will allocate Rs15,000 annually to each child from Class 1 through Intermediate across government, private aided, and private unaided schools.
  • The state reserves Rs2,000 of each grant for school facility upgrades, including cleanliness, maintenance, and hygiene.
  • Around 43 lakh mothers or legal guardians will receive the grants directly into their bank accounts, highlighting a focus on maternal engagement.
  • Complementary measures include distribution of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyardhi Mitra kits and the appointment of one teacher per class in 9,600 Adarsh model primary schools.
  • Launched on June 12 as part of the NDA’s Super Six promises, the programme replaces the Amma Vodi scheme and widens student coverage by 25 lakh over the former 42 lakh.
