Andhra Pradesh Clears Websol’s ₹3,538-Crore Plan for 8 GW Integrated Solar Plant at Naidupeta

State incentives under the 2024–29 policy with land for captive green power position the project for phased production from July 2027.

Overview

  • The facility combines 4 GW of solar cell capacity with 4 GW of module capacity, developed in two phases over 120 acres.
  • Commercial output is scheduled to start in July 2027, with the second phase targeted for July 2028.
  • The state has facilitated roughly 300 acres for a dedicated captive solar plant, and Websol plans a 100 MW captive installation to cut energy costs.
  • Customized support under the AP Industrial Development Policy 2024–29 includes land allotment, capital subsidy, power tariff reimbursement, duty exemptions and water-charge subsidies.
  • The project is expected to create about 2,000 direct jobs and significantly expand Websol’s footprint while reinforcing a growing regional solar manufacturing cluster that includes Premier Energies, Tata Power and Voltsun.
