Andhra Pradesh Clears ₹30,515 Crore for 50 Projects

Incentives will be granted only after projects are grounded to prioritize strategic sectors, spur jobs, expand clean-energy capacity.

Overview

  • The State Investment Promotion Board on Thursday approved proposals from 50 companies worth Rs 30,515 crore that the government says will create about 29,677 jobs across Andhra Pradesh.
  • Officials were ordered to link concessions to actual project grounding so incentives follow operations rather than paper approvals and to set up automated, transparent approval systems to speed execution.
  • The government identified priority sectors for the push as ethanol and biofuels, semiconductor and data‑centre development, lithium‑ion batteries and EV fast‑charging, renewable power and an emerging quantum technology ecosystem.
  • Leaders directed the Education Department to realign curricula toward robotics and advanced tech, asked power planners to size utilities for industrial growth, and called for affordable housing, tourism infrastructure and a Micro‑Irrigation Equipment Park to support local communities.
  • The administration also advanced strategic proposals, including a Centre of Excellence for Rare Earth Minerals at Andhra University and plans to fast‑track a proposed fifth‑generation fighter‑jet manufacturing and testing facility at Puttaparthi that still requires central government coordination.
