Overview
- CID Director General Ravishankar Ayyanar led a team that took custody of TTD Trust Board resolutions, Lok Adalat compromise papers, the case diary, CCTV footage, and related registers from TTD offices, Tirumala One Town Police Station, and the Lok Adalat cell.
- The agency said the seized material will be submitted to the High Court in a sealed cover in line with its directions.
- The action came a day after the High Court criticized police for slack handling and questioned why the CID sought to modify its September 16 order only in early October.
- The case traces to March–April 2023, when TTD employee C. Ravi Kumar was accused of stealing foreign currency, and the matter was later closed in a Lok Adalat settlement reportedly involving the donation of multiple properties to TTD.
- TTD board members, including BJP spokesperson G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, have alleged larger thefts than recorded in the FIR, and the CID plans to re-record statements and probe possible procedural lapses as part of the renewed inquiry.
