Overview
- The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, which met June 4, 2026, approved 34 proposals covering aviation, irrigation, energy, digital connectivity, healthcare, tourism and industry to fast-track projects and services.
- The State Aviation Policy 2026–31 was cleared with targets to raise passenger handling from 6.2 million to 30.38 million and air cargo from 6,240 tonnes to 427,000 tonnes by 2035 and plans for nine new airports and ten waterdromes.
- The Cabinet revised administrative sanction for roughly Rs 796–797 crore for Packages 5 and 5A of the Polavaram Left Main Canal to resume excavation, embankment and lining works between km 93.7 and km 111.
- Officials approved a Rs 300 crore government guarantee to Andhra Pradesh Power Finance Corporation for a HUDCO loan to fund State FiberNet, adopted the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act via ordinance, and cleared bids for the Amaravati Eye under a DBFOT model.
- Many approvals are administrative steps that now require downstream action—ordinance promulgation, DBFOT tendering, loan drawdown and on‑the‑ground works—and the state says these moves aim to speed delivery of jobs, connectivity and services while land allotments support solar and industrial projects.
