Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Approves 34-Item Development Package

The package aims to speed investment via new rules, project tenders, state guarantees, fast-tracked land allotments, and targeted funding

Overview

  • The state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved 34 proposals on Thursday that bundle policy, infrastructure and finance measures to push growth in the capital region and across Andhra Pradesh.
  • The Cabinet formally adopted the State Aviation Policy 2026–31, setting targets to raise passenger capacity to about 30.38 million and air cargo to 427,000 tonnes by 2035 and planning nine new airports plus 10 waterdromes to expand connectivity.
  • Ministers cleared inviting DBFOT bids for the six‑acre ‘Amaravati Eye’ observation wheel with a 30‑year concession, where DBFOT means private parties will design, build, finance, operate and then transfer the attraction back to the state.
  • The government issued an ordinance to implement the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 2011 to tighten oversight of organ donation and curb illegal trade, and approved revised administrative sanctions of about ₹796–797 crore for Polavaram Left Main Canal Packages 5/5A to accelerate irrigation works.
  • Social and investment incentives include exempting stamp duty and registration on 49.66 acres for the Amaravati Quantum Valley, a ₹300 crore HUDCO‑backed guarantee routed to state finance firms, and a July 1, 2026 start date for the VB‑GRAMG rural employment scheme that raises guaranteed work days from 100 to 125 per household.
