Overview

• The cabinet cleared the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Land Pooling Scheme Formulation and Implementation Rules 2025 and greenlit a second phase to pool an additional 44,000 acres for Amaravati’s expansion.
• A 22.19-acre site at Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam was allotted to Cognizant Technology Solutions India on a nominal lease of ₹0.99 per acre for a ₹1,583-crore tech park expected to generate over 8,000 jobs.
• Letters of Agreement were issued to NCC, Shapoorji Pallonji and L&T for the construction of 69 lakh square feet of office space in Amaravati, including General Administration and Heads of Departments towers.
• Land allotments to six new institutions—such as the Income Tax Department and BJP state office—and revised plots for four others have raised Amaravati’s total beneficiary count to 74 institutions.
• The cabinet approved leasing 55 acres in Amaravati to the Indian Institute of Legal Education and Research at Re 1 per square metre annually for a 60-year term.
