Andhra Pradesh Approves Google’s $10 Billion, 1 GW Data Centre Cluster in Visakhapatnam

Officials project 1.88 lakh jobs and a ₹10,518 crore annual GSDP lift as operations begin in 2028.

Overview

  • The State Investment Promotion Board chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced approval on October 8, calling it among India’s largest digital infrastructure FDI commitments.
  • The plan envisions three campuses totaling 1 GW across Adavivaram, Tarluvada, and Rambilli, a cluster reported to be the largest data centre region in Asia once complete.
  • The build includes three high‑capacity submarine cables, dedicated cable landing stations, and extensive metro fibre and other telecom infrastructure.
