Andhra Pradesh Approaches 100% e-KYC for Farmers as Opposition Alleges Mass Exclusions

The government plans to launch a grievance redressal portal to clear the remaining 61,000 pending farmer verifications.

Overview

  • The state’s e-KYC verifications for the Annadata Sukhibhava–PM Kisan scheme have reached 98%, leaving about 61,000 farmer records unresolved.
  • Government data from the Revenue Department’s Webland portal and the Forest Department’s Giribhoomi portal have identified 47.77 lakh eligible farmer families.
  • Under the scheme, farmer households will receive ₹20,000 annually, with ₹6,000 funded by the central government and ₹14,000 by Andhra Pradesh.
  • Officials are developing a grievance redressal portal to allow farmers to address disputes over Aadhaar mismatches, land ownership conflicts and other verification issues.
  • Opposition leaders claim that tightened eligibility criteria have excluded roughly half of the state’s farmers from the welfare benefits.
