Overview

• On July 16, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi to formally request an additional ₹10,000 crore under the SASCI scheme for 2025–26.
• Naidu urged that the next tranche of funding be disbursed as a grant rather than a loan to alleviate the state’s limited fiscal resources.
• He pressed the Centre to accept Andhra Pradesh’s pending appeal to the 16th Finance Commission for revenue deficit compensation stemming from the 2014 bifurcation.
• The chief minister updated that the Amaravati greenfield capital project carries a total estimated cost of ₹79,280 crore, with ₹44,351 crore in works underway and ₹26,000 crore mobilized to date.
• He expressed gratitude for ongoing central support to key infrastructure schemes including Amaravati and the Polavaram irrigation project.
