Overview

  • The BMC confirmed that Metro-7A tunnelling in the K-East Ward will lead to pressure drops in Vile Parle East and sections of Andheri
  • Evening supply windows will see pressure fall from 5pm to 8pm in Vile Parle East and from 8pm to 9:30pm along Old and New Nagardas Marg, Mograpada and Andheri-Kurla Marg
  • The work involves round-the-clock excavation beneath the 1,800 mm-diameter Veravali reservoir canal near Bamanwada using a tunnel-boring machine
  • Residents have been urged to store water beforehand and conserve usage throughout the weeklong disruption
  • The move follows June 19 pipeline maintenance and highlights persistent infrastructure strains on Mumbai’s water network
